I am learning the ropes as far as computers and selling online… and let me just say that I have come across so many fantastic ladies… that are “covering my back ” so to speak… they are helpful.. knowledgeable… kind… considerate… looking out for others…

Yes, no doubt there are some that are strictly attending to their own agenda… but to be quite honest … I have yet to meet such a person…. there is a spirit of camaraderie… caring… support… “we’re all in this together” kind of feel… women banding together supporting other women… something that I do believe comes so naturally… we are the nurturers… the caregivers… and caretakers… we are multi taskers… we go the extra mile with never a thought… or complaint about it… we give.. we love.. we care…

With the season of Christmas fast approaching …. a time of giving … may I just say ” thank you ” to all you fabulous ladies… the list is far too long and wide… but you know who you are… keep on doing what you do best… Share the L ~ O ~ V ~ E…. hugz… Kat….. http://katstreasureshop.etsy.com/

Celebrate the Equinox

Last Updated on Wednesday, 5 October 2011 06:15 Written by John Atwell Rasmussen Wednesday, 5 October 2011 06:15

The Autumnal Equinox has just occurred and the fall season has officially begun. With the advent of this season my creative muse has taken on a new vigor. Starting with the original form of silver smithing — wire wrapping, I made a pendant with a cobalt colored druzy agate in the center of the wire frame.

In another working idea, I took some 20 gauge square half hard copper wire and wound it on a 3 mm mandrel to make jump rings. These were cut from the mandrel with a jeweler’s saw, then put together to make the chain for this necklace. A dichroic glass pendant that accents the copper color in the chain hangs along the necklace.

Please excuse the quality of my photographs. I enjoyed making these pieces, and am continuing in my creation of custom work.

On top of being a really cool business name, EyeCandyChainmaille’s driving force is actually named Candy!  She has been painstakingly creating amazing work since 2009 and is fast becoming a chainmaille artist to take notice of.

I am such a chainmaille junkie; but there is nothing better than finding a maille artist that really adds style to her work!  Using basic weaves, EyeCandyChainmaille has turned the ordinary into stunning!

Not only does Candy make stunning wearable art with metal, she has an eye for adding gems and pearls in such a way that adds drama and class to already amazing pieces.

On top of being an amazing designer, she has created a wonderful tutorial for her own version of the Byzantine Cross.  Seems like a cool way to learn a new talent and end up with wearable art in the end.
