Generous as always, Andrew.

I've posted your shop to my blog and attempted to add my link to yours ... but as we both know, sometimes I need a couple of attempts to get it right ... ;)

I've gotten a fair amount of traffic from Facebook. I started a business page, and invited fans to join. I post new items to my FB photo album and they are displayed on my FB home page. You can also network your blog into FB, so my new blog posts also appear on my home page for all my FB friends to see. Gotten LOTS of hits from Kaboodle too, I post my own items and others' items (esp. from Artfire b/c I want Artfire to grow). Votehandmade.com has been a pretty good source of traffic, and I just discovered LinkReferral--24 new visits to my Artfire site in just a couple days, plus constructive criticism. It's a reciprocal agreement to view and review other people's websites. The more useful your reviews, and the more sites you view, the more of the same you get back from other members. Also, read all you can about tagging and shop/item titles, shop announcements, item descriptions--this is how search engines find your items. Make sure the keywords shoppers will be looking for appear right at the beginning of all your announcements, titles and descriptions. Etsy has some good articles/discussion threads on this.

Great information! Linking seems to be something really important to work on so a shop can be found easier. Thank you for this very helpful article Andrew.
